MV KALAKALA
|
- For over 30 years the Kalakala(Chinook for 'Flying Bird') served Seattle and Puget Sound with her distinctive Art Deco design, first with the Black Ball Line and later Washington State Ferries. In 1968 the Kalakala was towed to Alaska where she was converted into a crab & shrimp processor. In 1998 the Kalakala returned to Seattle.

- The KALAKALA will be sold in absentia,10:30am, Saturday, September 13th, at the James G. Murphy Company auction facility, 18226 68th Avenue NE, Kenmore, WA
|

SALE TERMS
|
- A $25,000 deposit will be required in order to bid on the Kalakala. The deposit will be non-refundable to the successful bidder. Full payment must be made by no later than the close of business, Tuesday, September 16, 2003. Kalakala sold by order U.S. Bankruptcy Court and is subject to prior sale. Full payment in cash, cashiers check or wire transfer.
- The successful bidder must take possession on or before September 30, 2003, and requires U.S. Coast Guard approval and permits to move the Kalakala, contact with Department of Natural Resources for security considerations, as well as moorage at the successful bidders expense.
- Due to safety & insurance reasons, persons under 12 not admitted.
